Keizer Refrigeration, a longtime Sioux City refrigeration business, plans to open an expanded facility along Harbor Drive, eight miles to the south of its current location in the 3200 block of Highway 75. As part of its relocation and expansion, the company also plans to add 12 new workers to its current staff of 35. 

"We're excited to grow in Sioux City," president Shane Keizer said. "We're happy to be along the interstate and get some more exposure, as well."

A “Growing Sioux City Award” was presented to Hard Rock Hotel & Casino today recognizing the company’s growth and investment in Sioux City. The award was presented by Mayor Bob Scott and accepted by Hard Rock Hotel & Casino General Manager Todd Moyer. Sioux City wind shirts were provided to company executives and a new tree will be planted on the property located at 111 3rd Street, signifying the company’s commitment to growing in Sioux City.

Fratco is proud to announce the acquisition of a new manufacturing plant in Sioux City, Iowa.

The Sioux City plant marks the 4th Fratco facility as the company expands throughout the greater midwest.

In March, the company entered into an agreement to acquire the Quality Farm Drainage facility at 1700 Riverside Blvd.

They expect to have the new facility up and producing great products in June. Fratco is a leading manufacturer of HDPE

plastic pipe used in agricultural and commercial drainage applications. The Sioux City plant is part of the company's plan

The award, presented by Mayor Bob Scott, was accepted by Braunger Foods Owner and CEO Tony Wald and President Tom Kloucek. Sioux City wind shirts were provided to company executives and a new tree will be planted on the property located at 2101 Murray Street, signifying the company’s commitment to growing in Sioux City.

The City Council will be asked to consider proposals for the sale of land in Bridgeport Industrial Park from two companies on Monday, March 27. An RFP process resulted in two bid proposals. City staff negotiated proposals from Tritz Pallet Inc. and Monterey Management, LLC to sell a 21-acre site that includes a spec building that the city developed with a private contractor last year.

The Sioux City Growth Organization (SCGO) is pleased to announce the winner and runner up of the 2017 Innovation Market. The winner is Sara Gotch with Gnarly Pepper. Second place went to Kyle Madsen with The Perch.
 
The five finalists from the Innovation Market, held on February 16th, made their pitches to SCGO members and guests on Wednesday, March 8th. The entrepreneurs were given seven minutes for their presentation followed by a three minute question and answer session. A short discussion followed the presentations after which votes were cast.

The City Council will be asked to consider a proposal from Kinseth Hospitality Company, Inc. on Monday for the construction of a major new downtown hotel. The City has worked closely with Kinseth to develop a plan to build a five-story Courtyard by Marriott Hotel connected to the Sioux City Convention Center. The new full-service hotel will offer 151 rooms and be financed and constructed by the developer, which has secured the Marriott Courtyard brand and required financing.

For the sixth time in the last decade, the Sioux City Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) ranks first in the nation in its population category for economic development, according to results released today by the Managing Editor of Site Selection magazine. The Sioux City MSA was also recognized as the top community for populations under 200,000 in 2007, 2008, 2012, 2013, and 2015. The metro ranked second in both 2009 and 2014 and finished third in 2006. The metro region has ranked in the top three nationally in its population category in a remarkable nine of the last eleven years.

Seaboard Triumph Foods announced today plans to expand its new pork processing facility in Sioux City, Iowa, to include the addition of a second shift.

The addition of a second shift will allow processing of up to approximately 6 million hogs annually. The plant will employ approximately 2,000 people, including about 200 salaried positions and 1,800 hourly production positions. The plant is currently in the final stages of construction in the Bridgeport West Industrial Park in Sioux City, located north of the Sioux Gateway Airport along the Missouri River.
