Launch Week to Inspire Entrepreneurs

A week of free events relating to innovation and entrepreneurship will take place in Sioux City as part of the 3^rd annual Launch Week, October 8^th – 15^th. With speakers, networking opportunities and plenty of fun, Launch Week aims to inspire, motivate, and promote collaboration among professionals.

The popular networking event, Biz Brew, is set for Thursday, October 8, 5:00pm at the Doxx Warehouse Bar, 1219 5^th Street. Make connections with others looking to grow their network and learn about resources available for startups. Then test your local knowledge of local business, Sioux City history and more with Startup Sioux City Pub Trivia beginning at 6:00pm. The Jeopardy-style fun includes four rounds of questions that are sure to keep you guessing.

Startup Drinks is a meet-up for people interested in entrepreneurship, technology, business, community building, innovation, funding, etc. Come to meet, talk, make contacts and have fun. The event is informal, social, and free. Startup Drinks will be held Friday, October 9th at 5:00pm at Jackson Street Brewing.

The Entrepreneurship Group from Morningside College will host a Taco-thon on Tuesday, October 13th from 5:30-6:30pm outside the Palmer's Olde Tyme Candy Shoppe at 405 Wesley Parkway. Walk around downtown and network while eating walking tacos that are 2 for $5.

The University of Iowa's John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center will kick-off Venture School on Wednesday, October 14th at 7:00pm at ISU Design West, 1014 ½ Design Place. Venture School is an intense six week program for entrepreneurs designed to increase the chances of startup success and accelerate the timeline to launch.

On Thursday, October 15, join Jonathan Fanning as he presents “Creative Leadership: Building a Culture of Innovation” as part of Business for Breakfast at the Sioux City Convention Center. Can you intentionally become more creative? What impact would that have on your career? Jonathan will inspire you to build great questions into your daily routine to become a better leader and create a culture of excellence.
