Governor Branstad Proclaims March 14th at Iowa Coworking Day

As a way to recognize the growing community of coworking spaces that have sprung up across the state of Iowa, Governor Branstad has signed a proclamation declaring March 14th to be Iowa Coworking Day.

Coworking is a concept that has been growing across the nation where entrepreneurs, creatives, remote workers and independent contractors work together in a shared office space.  Coworking allows those

who might otherwise be working in isolation to be part of a small community.  Members of these communities bring their own technology and work independently yet benefit from the ability to have

useful human interactions which are not always possible sitting in a coffee shop or home office.   The interactions fostered in these spaces can lead to business growth, form new companies and create

greater sense of connection.   There are currently 16 operating coworking spaces in Iowa.

To celebrate Iowa Coworking Day, Springboard Coworking at 700 4th Street, second floor, will join other spaces in Iowa and host an open house from 9:00 – 5:00.  You can work for Free that day!  And in recognition of PI day, we will be serving pie.

This is a great opportunity to learn more about the companies and creatives working out of Springboard in Sioux City and to experience firsthand just how collaborative and productive these spaces can be.

Participating cities: Des Moines, Iowa City, Cedar Rapids, Cedar Falls, Davenport, Fairfield, North Liberty and Sioux City.
