A “Growing Sioux City Award” was presented to Braunger Foods on May 16 recognizing the company’s growth and investment in Sioux City. The award, presented by Mayor Bob Scott, was accepted by Braunger Foods Owner and CEO Tony Wald and President Tom Kloucek. Sioux City wind shirts were provided to company executives and a new tree will be planted on the property located at 2101 Murray Street, signifying the company’s commitment to growing in Sioux City.

Braunger Foods has been operating their food service distribution company in Sioux City for 128 years. They recently completed renovations of an existing 48,000 sq. ft. facility and added more than 27,000 sq. ft. to the warehouse located in Bridgeport Industrial Park. The $2.2 million project included assistance from the Targeted Jobs Program. Braunger Foods distributes food and related projects to approximately 1,000 restaurants, schools and health care facilities in a 180-mile radius of Sioux City within Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota.

Braunger Foods is one of six brands and companies that operate both independently and in partnership with TOBA companies. Tony Wald, TOBA Inc. CEO says, “We had a great experience and received a lot of help from Renae Billings and the Sioux City Economic Development Department. We are very pleased with our new facility and are confident it will serve us and our customers well for many years.”

“Retaining local businesses is a top priority of the Council,” said Mayor Bob Scott. “We are appreciative of the investment by Braunger Foods and proud to present them with the Growing Sioux City Award.”
