Gelita To Construct New Plant in Woodbury County

Gelita USA has announced plans to construct a new $22 million dollar manufacturing plant at their facility located south of Sioux City and create at least 21 new jobs. The Port Neal complex, which employs about 250 people, is billed as the world's largest gelatine factory. Gelita recently received an economic development incentive package from both the state of Iowa and Woodbury County.

Gelita USA is a division of Gelita AG, a Eberbach, Germany-based producer of collagen proteins for the food, health, nutrition and pharmaceutical industry, with facilities on six continents. Construction of the new facility is projected to begin in early 2017 and is targeted for completion by the end of 2018.
